Confidence-floor
One of the four gates: per-section confidence is capped by the authorities the section rests on. Where the strongest signal on a section's authority is doubted or needs a check, confidence is capped at medium; where it is overruled, it is capped at low.

- GateA deterministic check that runs on output, code rather than a model's opinion. Four of them: match-set (every citation in the answer must be one that was actually retrieved), quote-verbatim (a quoted passage must appear word for word in the retrieved source), confidence-floor (a claim below the threshold is held rather than passed through), and closed-world-URL (a link from a domain outside the allow-list does not render).
- Treatment signalHow later courts have treated an authority. Nine values: good law, followed, applied, distinguished, explained, considered, needs a check, doubted, overruled. Shown beside the verdict.
