Three verdicts, and no fourth

Verified, needs a check, or not found. A firm can switch on 'hold work with a failed authority': any run containing a failed authority is held rather than released, and only an owner can override the hold.

An approved list, ranked by authority

The list covers the United Kingdom, England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, Ireland, the European Union and the ECHR, plus international bodies, and it is ranked: courts and legislation first, then regulators and official publishers. It includes legislation.gov.uk, BAILII, Find Case Law, EUR-Lex, and the FCA, ICO and SRA handbooks. Where a matter's jurisdiction has no approved list yet, research runs at open-web quality with the same gates and the output says so. 'Where we looked' lists every source consulted, including the ones that returned nothing.

What it does not do.

  • It does not read licensed corpora, so an authority available only in Westlaw or Lexis comes back 'not found'.
  • Verified source lists cover the UK, Ireland, the EU and the ECHR today. Elsewhere, research runs at open-web quality with the same gates, and the output says so.
  • It does not produce a compliance certificate or a tamper-evident hash chain. The printable bundle carries a content digest.
  • It does not claim an accuracy percentage. It reports what each gate did.
